The most wonderful music from different operas, five choreographers, all the Scapino dancers, a wonderful stage set and a brilliantly conceived attempted murder of dance: that is TWOOLS at the Opera!
With opera scores from Puccini, Verdi, Mascagni, Bellini and others, theatre maker Hans Tuerlings, artistic leader Ed Wubbe, Scapino choreographers Loïc Perela and Lucas Jervies and guest choreographer Allessandro Perreira have created a modern ‘Opéra de Danse’.
The denouement of this turbulent evening about revulsion and passion hits home after 75 minutes and many, many lyrical arias.
Scapino’s TWOOLS performances – short dance pieces by different choreographers, created and presented at break-neck speed – have been a byword in Rotterdam for 11 years. This season, TWOOLS goes on tour.
